Version 6.0.4.1424       MP4 CF1                Release date: 17.03.2010

Fixed issues:

1.     Program crashes while cleaning logs via configuration window of the corresponding settings.

2.     Errors that occured while transferring parameters and exceptions of the Trusted Zone during Kaspersky Anti-Virus upgrade from version 6.0 MP3 to 6.0 MP4.

3.     Errors that caused the Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server operating system to hang.

4.     Excessive 3019 events ("The redirector failed to determine the connector type; source: MRXSMB") that Microsoft Event Log registered while accessing the network folders.

5.     Avp.exe process crashes while checking network resources with long names and denied access to file.

6.     Incorrect termination of the avp.exe process responsible for the program interface after ending a remote session, if the program's self-defense is enabled.

7.     Microsoft Windows Server 2003 crashes during the Kaspersky Anti-Virus operation if running Windows Deployment Toolkit 2008 Service Pack 1 (when creating a Windows PE boot disk image).

8.     Error while moving from the report window to the folder, whose name contains symbols in the national encoding.

9.     Errors creating Kaspersky Rescue Disk image.

10.   Error that caused a decrease in the operating system performance after numerous Kaspersky Anti-Virus database updates, with enabled Self-Defense.

11.   Error that caused a too long operation system boot on some configurations with installed Kaspersky Anti-Virus.

12.   Possibility to turn off File Anti-Virus without entering the password (if the password was specified).

13.   The operation of csrss.exe and lsm.exe processes are not registered in the application log anymore every time the terminal user logs off from the system, if Self-Defense has been enabled.

14.   Error processing the "Display Kaspersky Anti-Virus in the list of installed programs" parameter on 64-bit operating systems.

15.   Error that caused the "Infected objects detected" event to be registered in Kaspersky Administration Kit reports instead of the "Disinfection impossible" event, when the infected file could be neither disinfected, nor deleted.

16.   Error that caused the "object not disinfected: write access denied" event to not be registered in Kaspersky Administration Kit reports if an infected object was detected on a write-protected medium.

17.   Error that caused automatic update of application modules to not run during remote installation, in some cases.

18.   Error related to the operation of protection subsystem (protection of the installation folder) when upgrading the application on 64-bit operating systems.

19.   Error in the operation of protection subsystem (protection of the application data folder) on Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2.

20.   Errors in Japanese localization of dialog boxes in the application plug-in in Kaspersky Administration Kit.

21.   Error that caused the object name to be taken into account when applying the rule despite the disabled "Object" parameter in the trusted zone rule.

22.   Error displaying the object name in the trusted zone rule if the object name contains language symbols that are different from those of the localization language.

23.   Error in the .kud file, which did not allow using this file to create a new installation package in Kaspersky Administration Kit.

Improvements:

1.     A new program license is installed automatically in Kaspersky Administration Kit after the previous license has expired.

2.     The possibility of creating short paths and environment variables for exception rules has been added to the Trusted Zone.

3.     Vulnerabilitiy disclosed: rules to access the program folder %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Kaspersky Lab\Avp60mp4\Data have become stricter.

4.     Eliminated vulnerability when processing 7z archives.

5.     Eliminated vulnerability when processing RAR archives.

6.     The list of incompatible applications available for automatic uninstallation during the application installation, has been expanded.

Known issues:

1.     Microsoft Windows Server 2003 crashes when renaming a network folder. Expected hotfix from Microsoft for Windows Server 2003.

2.     In some cases, the avp.exe process is identified by Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 as the Aliens versus Predator game, which causes instability in the application operation. To avoid such problems, KB974332 or KB976264 updates should be installed on these operating systems before the installation of the application.

3.     The application cannot be upgraded from version 6.0 MP4 to version 6.0 MP4 CF1 when installed via Group Policy object in Microsoft Windows 2000 operating systems. This is caused by an error in the operating system which is described in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: http://support.microsoft.com/?id=954003 (A minor upgrade is not applied to a Windows 2000-based computer when you try to deploy the update by using a Group Policy object).

Version 6.0.4.1134       MP4 RC                Release date: 20.07.2009

Fixed issues:

1.      100% processor load by the avp.exe process if the current month does not include the date on which the task execution schedule is set (e.g., for the full scan task).

2.      Troubles when adding certain objects to a trusted zone.

Improvements:

1.      Provided support for running under new top operating systems in use: Microsoft Windows Server 2008, Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2008, Microsoft Windows Essential Business Server 2008, and a brand-new operating system, Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2.

2.      The new antivirus kernel that Kaspersky Anti-Virus uses detects malicious programs more effectively.

3.═══ The RAM volume used by anti-virus kernel is considerably desceased.

4.      A new heuristic analyzer has been implemented, providing more accurate detection and blocking of previously unknown malicious programs. If a program's signature has not been found in anti-virus databases, the heuristic analyzer simulates the launch of the program in an isolated virtual environment. This method is secure and allows for analyzing all of the effects of a program before it runs in a real environment.

5.      The update procedure for the application has been improved. The computer now rarely needs to be restarted.

6.      The Rescue Disk creation service has been improved. It should be used when the infection is at such level that it is impossible to disinfect the computer using anti-virus applications or malware removal utilities run under the operating system. In this case, a higher degree of efficiency of the disinfection is achieved since malware programs do not gain control when the operating system is being loaded.

7.  ════ The interface makes the features of the program simple and easy to access.

8.   ═══ The interface has been redesigned with regard to the needs of administrators of small to midsized networks as well as administrators of large corporate networks.

9.   ═══ Management of the application when installed on a remote computer has been improved (policy structure has been redesigned).

10.    A feature has been added that enables remote installation of the application with the latest version of the application databases.

11.    A feature has been added that allows to use an existing application configuration file when creating a policy.

12.    One more feature has been implemented that allows to disable temporarily policy actions and group tasks for client computers with the application installed (after entering the correct password).

Known issues:

1.      In some cases, the computer may slow down when updating the databases.

2.      The time of starting scheduled tasks may be shifted if the Administration Server and the client are located in different time zones.

3.      Simultaneous removal of a great number of files from the disk takes more time than it usually needs.

4.      In some cases, a group task error is returned with a long code line without explaining causes.

5.═══ In some cases while working under Microsoft Windows Server 2003 self-defence does not turn on automatically.

6.══ In some cases a user who tries to save an infected file to server will not be blocked.

7.═ The application has not passed the whole testing cycle under Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 OS.
